Step by Step: How To Verify Your Website With Pinterest

how to verify your website with pinterest

Today let’s get our websites verified with Pinterest!

As other tools I showed you in my last posts, Pinterest will allow you to dramatically grow your business.

Here the other tools discussed:

  • If you want to know how to verify your website with Google Search Console (former Webmaster Tools) click here.
  • If you want to know how to verify your website with Bing click here.

This article wants to be a very brief and effective step by step guide.

Let’s start!

P.S. Being verified with Pinterest doesn’t mean success. The basis of your business must be content and quality. Always.

Pinterest is a very good place to share your website or affiliate links, and you know why? Because it is extremely easy to share your links. Think of it: you can simply post an image and add a link that will be neat – it has its position, you don’t need to add it in the same field of the description as when you use Facebook or Twitter – and directly attached to the picture you are posting – you don’t need to use tools to create different link fields as when you use Instagram.

Your image will be the main character and you can directly attach it to public boards without spending lot of time in doing research to find groups and pages willing to accept your content. You will be able to use keywords to make your image easier to find.

Of course, also this social media has its rules, and I would like to highlight the most important one:

  • Your image must be impressive.

People go to Pinterest to see images, not to read captions. Think of Instagram: did you know that one of the characteristics of the algorithm is that if you want a better rank you need to write long captions? With Pinterest, you won’t have this problem.

With such good characteristics, it becomes one of the best places where you can promote your products for free.

But, if you want to create a paid campaign, you can do it only of you verify your website. So, this is the first reason why you need verification.

The second reason why – and this affects everyone – is that by verifying your website you can track your analytics.

So, let’s see how you can verify your website.

WordPress hosts billions of pages and millions of websites. It has a large market share and I guess that most of your websites are on WordPress, so I want to share very specific info related to this platform. To verify my website I used the same plugin I showed you in my previous articles (to see how to install it, click here): the “All in One SEO Pack” plugin – you DON’T need the pro version.

Let’s start!

The first thing you need to do is creating a free business account.

If you don’t have one, just select your profile and click on “Add a free business account“. Set up your profile.

Then go to “Home” and select “Claim your website“.

A window will appear. Select “Add HTML tag” and copy only the alphanumeric code.

Go to the General Settings of your All in One SEO Pack page without closing the Pinterest page. Scroll down to the “Webmaster Verification” section and paste the code in the “Pinterest Site Verification” field. Save changes and go back to your Pinterest page.

I really love that you shared this because Pinterest although it started out as a place where most women would go to post pictures and create dream boards, etc., it has become much, much more and is used equally by everyone, and definitely an amazing source of free traffic, as long as you’re not spamming anyone.

    1. Hey thank you so much for your comment! You’re right: I had a look at the data and that’s true, Pinterest is used mainly by women. 3. Hi there thanks for the review. To find out if a website is legitimate, Google the website’s name and review the results. If the site is illegitimate, a quick Google check will be enough to inform you accordingly. Also, look at the website itself to see if it connects securely over https and displays a tiny padlock icon in the address bar.
