It looks like engagement is becoming harder!
I don’t know what happened
As I told you in the very first post of this blog series, I stopped using IG for a while.
Well, for several months in reality.
But I remember how my previous IG life was.
For instance, I can remember that I reached even more than 100 new followers in one day, with no particular effort: not very useful posts, not very useful captions, no engagement – just with a couple of accounts.
So, it was pretty much easy, and I reached almost 1000 followers in a short period of time, even if I was not so consistent.
This time, I organized a calendar, I used only relevant hashtags after good research, I created captivating captions, I used all IG features, I engage a lot … but growth is slow – constant, but much slower than during my previous IG life, and every single follower is gained through real and deep engagement.
I am not the only one who had this impression about IG: some influencers started challenges, telling their followers that they would have stopped using hashtags because they are not working; some analysts think that reach is down because IG wants you to spend money in ads, not giving you the opportunity to reach the same number of accounts for free.
I need to do more research on the topic. I will keep you posted.
In the meanwhile, leave a comment telling your experience if you had the same impression!
That’s all for today!
